Was on a bit of a Mike Leigh kick after watching Hard Truths and Naked recently, and then seeing Sally Hawkins's great performance in Bring Her Back made me appreciate her more, so this was the perfect choice. Sally is phenomenal as this ball of sunshine, which makes her performance in Bring Her Back even better to me, seeing how far in contrast they are to each other. The movie is funny while also balancing its serious moments well, and it makes for a wonderful film. Mike Leigh is surely climbing the list of my favorite filmmakers.
