Heavy, oppressive and bleak. Beautifully shot and really stark.

Went in completely blind and wasn't expecting the oppressive tone of the obsession with revenge and a small village mentality. Basically turns into a melodrama in the middle which I loved.

A great and informative introduction from Steven Sloss too!

Darker than I expected. Liza Minelli is incredible! The music and sets were beautiful. There's so much Powell & Pressburger in this.
Maybe could have been a tad shorter (found the middle section so stressful to watch, De Niro is terrifying in parts).
But that ending makes up for it.

This film was very much my vibe. It looks beautiful and dreamlike, unsettling and sublime. Takes a while to get into things but worth it. It's made me want to rewatch Arcadia again. The sound design is so intense too, go and see it at the cinema if you can!

LOVED this! A southern gothic folk tale. Won't say much more but this was so refreshing and bold and gory/fun! Great music (part musical?) and set pieces. THAT scene in particular. Go and see it in IMAX. Can't wait for the rewatch
