In my opinion, it's the best Wajda movie because it doesn't feel like something he would typically make. The story is very simple, not overly complicated, and easy to watch. Visually, it’s astonishing, thanks to the cinematographer Sławomir Idziak, best known for his collaborations with Krzysztof Kieślowski. The film almost feels like a lost Kieślowski picture.
