“It’s alright, I’m a Cop!”
“I don’t think he gives a shit!”
Surprisingly solid sequel that I think is a tad underrated here on Letterboxd.
Could’ve had a decent disaster movie here if the story was just about the moon’s orbit changing course and humanity coming up with some “only possibly in movies” way of saving the planet. I don’t care for the story that we do get though. You already have to suspend disbelief to get on board with most natural disaster extinction movies. Mixing that genre with aliens? + evil AI inside the moon just doesn’t really work for me.
Off the top of my head this is probably the most brutal animated movie I’ve seen and I think I loved it. Pretty sure this also unseats Prey as my favorite Predator movie.
Every segment was well done but I think the 2nd segment, the sword, was my favorite.
I Like the way it ended tying itself into older events while simultaneously setting up for future movies. Just give Dan Trachtenberg the keys to do whatever he wants with the Predator IP because he hasn’t missed yet. This has me a lot more excited for Predator: Badlands now
