Wow. Incredible.

Ingrid Bergman and Liv Ullmann astonish in this one. A story of pain carried throughout an entire generation stands on the performances of its two leads and both go at it like an immovable object and an unstoppable force. Ingrid Bergman brings incredibly sharp dialogue but the best part of her performance is nonverbal. Liv Ullman shows incredible emotional range from minute to minute. 

It’s an emotional ride. But it is beyond powerful in execution.
