ICK is maximalist off the rails kinetic filmmaking for kids and their Gen Y parents to gorge themselves on. The people that made this must be mad…in a good way. Fully committing to the aesthetic and not compromising on the vision of what this is intended to be. Bombastic needle drops of songs I never wanted to hear again ironically blasting your lobes without mercy. Dialogue is funny and clever designed to give you, a wait, what did he just say reaction. Brandon Routh’s performance centers the whole movie and leaves you wondering why isn’t he leading more movies. I dig ICK.
