People are so quick to look down on sex workers as if what they do means they deserve less, but they’re in fact still human. They have feelings and deserve respect. It’s honestly upsetting how often people try to explain why it is okay to disrespect them. They’re not jokes, insults you throw at someone you don’t like, and some background characters you can kill off at the start of a movie for shock value. On the other hand, from my feminist point of view, this movie lets women shine, but still within a patriarchal storyline. It pushes the idea that love, stability, and self worth only come after a woman is “rescued” or transformed by a man. Nevertheless, I actually really enjoyed watching it, so let’s just let my “too woke” opinion slide for a moment…
