this is still far and away the best Marvel movie. tackles American exceptionalism and imperialism so cleverly. the villain is a rich white capitalist who invents a vaguely Middle Eastern caricature to distract Americans from his wrongdoings. the character War Machine is painted the colors of the flag as part of a rebrand as Iron Patriot, literally masking a war machine in the guise of patriotism. suicide bombings, a staple of 21st century terrorism, are carried out by American veterans…
hot take: tony's character development in this is the best thing the mcu has ever done.
Every time someone calls this one of the worst mcu films a part of my soul dies
