Hail, Caesar!

2016

Truly no one does ensembles like them. Everyone gets multiple opportunities to shine brighter than many stars get to in their entire careers. Clooney himbo mode, Tilda doubled up, Ehrenreich star turn with a lasso. You can practically feel the joy in the editing around some of the best bits, McDormand's scarf in the projector teasing us before, "it's....... complicated."

Shocking to think on rewatch, but maybe my favorite from the brothers. Ticks like the watch on Brolin's wrist. Just feels right.

Any time the goat can dedicate more than 50% of a film's runtime to its climax, you know he's gonna do it.

There's something so relaxed about Soderbergh's efforts here, a genuine sense of fun in each shot's imperfections and intricacies. The lighting especially goes hard. Perfect movie. Wonder if there's any others like it!

You can really tell who got the Cinematographer in the break-up, but I liked it! Let's go over the time team! Dicks out!

Che: Part One

I was very curious as to whether I was going to learn or feel with this movie and of course it was both. Loved the title card after the credits that said "Che will return in Avengers: Shitiverse 2" (ran out of ideas for joke here)

The Korean From Seoul

★★★★★ Liked Watched

It honestly feels like this movie was made exclusively for me. But it leaves so many questions unanswered, like:

Where was the Korean from? What country is Seoul in? What nationality is someone from Seoul? Does the Korean have a hometown?

I'll be happy if I never see airport tickers spell out "Three Months Later" ever again in my goddamn life
