Once, on a summer night, a diverse crowd of moviegoers packed into a Cheshire Bridge movie theater and laughed and screamed along with a truly confounding 1930 musical-comedy-disaster-epic. Even the heterosexuals succumbed to the picture's bizarre campiness. Dialogue and lyrics were often indecipherable, major sections dragged on puzzlingly, others delightfully lacked familiar rhythms, and everyone just glided along with it, grinning away.
