It was as if it were produced, written, and directed by aliens from outer space. There must have been a sale on green scrubs, because so many characters wear them. Multiple unrelated killers and ill-timed dream sequences make this wonderfully confusing. If it wasn't such trash it might be considered high art. I'll consider it as such. After enjoying the director's previous works, "The Theta Girl" and "Bad Girls," I have been looking forward to this one since I first saw it announced.

I'm happy to report that "Pater Noster and the Mission of Light" is Christopher Bickel's best work to date, a movie that made me say "holy shit" more than once.

In theory this should have been up my alley. A LOT of tedious screentime is spent on boring police procedurals and flamenco dancing. Time that should have been spent explaining ANY of the motivations of the lead character. The whole thing seemed mostly an exercise in "how many outfit changes can the lead character have?" Ultimately, this was a snooze and I'm surprised so many others seem to love it so much. Maybe there's something wrong with me?
