"Dear God, I accept my death gladly but do not let me suffer too long. Will I be with You tonight in Paradise?"

A harrowing, tragic, beautiful film and one of the greatest achievement of the medium. The sadness and pure terror conveyed by Maria Falconetti eyes alone is enough for this film to be permanently engraved into my mind. Most of this is shot in extreme closeups, leaving little room to breathe, but perfectly showcasing the tension with no dialogue. Joan is just an astounding figure and so heartbreaking to see put to screen. As I said Maria Falconetti's performance is simply the greatest I've ever seen. She is so visibly terrified it's genuinely horrific. Every expression feels like a shot to the heart. A woman so devoted to her God she is willingly to give up her life in service to her country. Just 19 and burdened with the duty of a saint. Always looking to the sky as if to get some confirmation that what she is doing is right. Betrayed by the very insitution she has devoted her entire being to. Looking for a any sign, and even without one still trusting she will be free in her inevitable death. Life through death, freedom through fire. Every tear she shed shattered me beyond repair. Devastating and painful, but ultimately sures every film before and after it in pure beauty. Likely the greatest thing I've ever witnessed.

"Racing hasn't changed, and it never will."

"It doesn't matter if racing never changes. What matters is if we let racing change us. Every one of us has to find a reason to do this. You don't climb into a T-180 to be a driver. You do it because you're driven."

The full embrace of a new age of digital filmmaking pushed beyond its limits. A jump from walking to flying with no room in between. How a film like this was even made is beyond me. Simply just one of the most visually dazzling films I've ever seen. The effects feel dated, but in a way that just elevates the film as a whole into a true symbol of its time. There are no movies like this and never will be. Feels like a shot of adrenaline with some brief stops to actually breathe in the best way possible. The Wachowskis are some of the greatest to ever do it.

On paper, nothing really special, but not only am I a sucker for documentaries in general, but who doesn't love Legos. The animation is obviously spectacular and definitely elevated this film from just being an average documentary. I also knew next to nothing about Pharrell going into this so seeing his background actually enlightened me quite a bit. I think it could've gone a little more in depth into some things, but this was also made for children so I can see why some things were cut. Great music, great animation, and Legos, it's hard not to love this at least a little bit. Much better than I expected, very cute little movie.

"Creation of art is often associated with pain."

Having only seen one Cronenberg previously, The Fly, this definitely made me realize his reputation of horniness outside of body horror. And this makes for a perfect, gross, a beautiful mix of both. It's hard to even describe a film like this because it is in know way an enjoyable experience, yet it's still so mesmerizing. The "body horror" evokes less of a feeling of horor than it does sensual experience. All leading to an ultimate acceptance of the change that comes with the body, destined to evolve. An embrace of the future and all of its horrors.

"Have you ever noticed how your advice always corresponds exactly with us not having to do anything, at all?"

There is a very common saying in relation to grief that "time heals all wounds." Simply enough, that is just not true. Ignoring the pain only allows it to grow stronger until it takes full control, influencing every thing you do, only leading go more pain. It seems so easy to just pretend everything is fine, it seems so much easier not to confront the problem and let it just go away in its own time, but the only way go truly let go is to acknowledge that the pain exists. What I did not know going into this film was that it was from the perspective of the ghost itself and while the wide angles can be disorienting it makes for a truly unique experience. Every frame feels embedded with some indescribable darkness, such is the feeling of grief. Chris Sullivan and Callina Lang are the clear standouts of the film and their father-daugther dynamic feels almost too real. Why this film has gotten relatively low reception is beyond me because I absolutely adore everything about it. Easily one of the best of the year so far.

"A fight to the death... only one will live... and the survivor... will face me!"

Just about everything you could ever want from this franchise rolled into a tight 90 minute runtime. Every segment feels unique and there is not a single second where I was bored. I was worried the stories being interconnected would bring this down, but it actually worked better than expected. Fucking stellar animation throughout as well and that ending has me instantly seated for whatever comes next in this series. Dan Trachtenberg was made for Predator. I don't know where this is headed, but I'll be there day one.

"By the way, I would have voted for Obama for a third term, if I could. Best President in my lifetime, hands down."

You would think that something like this would get worse upon rewatch, but somehow this just improves ever single time. Showed it to my dad this time around as well. I find more details every time I watch this, especially the subtle notes of racism early on. It's not completely obvious or out in the open, it's hidden and deeply rooted. You can't prove it, but something just feels off, which is the case for many bigoted people nowadays. They hide in plain site, yet you can still always tell. Jordon Peele, even in his directorial debut, displays his full capabilities as a director. Daniel Kaluuya is also incredible hefe I need him to be in a movie again he's one of the best to ever do it. There's so much to love in Get Out, endlessly rewatchable and a great dark comedy in many ways.

"Fuck the tour!"

One of the meanest, cynical, and outright evil films I've ever had the displeasure of seeing. Takes everything from the first and dials it to fucking eleven. Even from the opening you are presented with this idea that maybe there is hope, just for it to get ripped away a second later. The smile demon or whatever you want to call it is a physical embodiment of anyone who has ever struggled with their mental health's greatest fear. There is no one coming to help, no one is listening, you are alone. Every attempt you make to try and push it down is meaningless, you can't escape yourself. Naomi Scott puts on an electricly terrifying performance in this. Several scenes I found myself feeling so sympathetic for her I began to cry just for the darkness to interrupt and bring the terror back. So fucking bleak from start to finish, I feel completely empty. Disgusting film...I can't wait to see the next one.

"Your mind makes it real!"

I must be honest and say I only decided to watch this because I wanted to check out the sequel, but at least this wasn't actually too bad! Follows in the footsteps of many things you've seen before in Final Destination or It Follows, so not too much originality going on and pretty predictable. Even so, this is still a damn good horror movie. The commentary on mental health patients not feeling heard wasn't as shallow as I was expecting and pretty actually pretty solid. Oh and thatnending is so fucked up (complimentary). Overall not nearly as bad as I was expecting. I've only heard great things about the sequel so I'm excited to check it out!

"Steve gave them something to believe in, you give them something to aspire to."

Well there you have it folks, Captain America: Brave New World is in fact not a good movie! I can't say I had any good expecting going into this as I've basically only heard how terrible it was and what I heard was correct. Very funny how much red Hulk was marketed in this movie just to show up for 5 minutes all while looking like a PS5 cutscene. Really, the whole movie is just really bad looking. There's a select few good things in here, primarily Anothony Mackie's Cap. He fits the role like a glove and it's a shame this is the movie he ended up with. I hope he gets more of an opportunity to shine in the future and hopefully in a good movie at the very least. Also that post credit scene is probably the worst thing I've ever seen it's so obvious they were setting up Majors' Kang.

"Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon and the truth."

I must say I put this one off for a while because I wasn't really expecting much from a direct to Apple TV+ movie, but since it had two leads that I love I thought I'd give it a go. In all honesty, this kind of blew my expectations out of the water. Miles Teller and Anya Taylor Joy have great chemistry and were extremely fun to follow throughout. The visuals are a little stale when they're not in the gorge itself, but the cute banter between the leads is just so adorable, I could never hate this. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's score is incredible too as excepted. Also the story shifts into a completely different movie in the 2nd half for better or for worse, but I loved this quite a lot. I'll probably forget it in a day though. Anya Taylor Joy is the best anyone has ever looked in a movie in this as well so it's gets a high rating for that alone. The Gorge is actually short for gorgeous.

I've started and stopped this movie for the past few years, even making it half of the way through and then just forgetting to finish it, so it was probably about time I got around to watching this in its entirety. And unsurprisingly this was exactly what I was expecting, not in a bad way, but certainly predictable. Even so, I'm still very excited to dive into the rest of this franchise as its been a major blindspot for me for a while now. I'm hooked, I'll just have to see if they can keep me invested.

"Nope."

Went into this pretty much blind because of Cregger's film Weapons, and holy fuck am I glad I didn't know anything about this. Gnarly and spine-chlling. My excitement for Weapons has grown ten-fold. Brilliant ending as well.

Well if you ever wanted to see a feature length episode of Succession than this is probably the movie for you. Definitely drags in the first act, but once it gets going it gets going. Part social commentary and part slapstick comedy, but ultimately four guys slowly losing their minds together. The cast has great chemistry that is enough to keep me entertained for the (unnecessary) two hour runtime. Was a little worried this would be boring, but I was delightfully surprised at a mostly fun time. Ironic I watched this on the same day as Friendship. Moral of the story: male friendships are the most toxic relationships anyone can have.

Possibly the funniest theater experience of my life. I've never laughed so hard in public. The audience was in tears for 90% of the runtime, and the extra 10% was pure horror. I was so incredibly uncomfortable, but in the best was possible. Tim Robinson is the best at whatever the fuck it is that he does. Most accurate depiction of male friendships I've ever seen. I'm gonna be quoting this until the day I die.

"We should still be in Afghanistan."

"It's fuckin Novocaine! And he's not fuckin dead!"

I can't say I expected anything else from this besides the growing number of average guy becomes John Wick action flicks, but I still had a good time. Mostly due to the fact that Jack Quaid is extremely charismatic and charming that he's able to turn an otherwise shitty movie into a somewhat average movie. Some cool action in here, funny at times, cute ending, and I'll forget it in a week.

"Everybody dies. Some of us peacefully and in our sleep, and some of us... horribly. And that's life."

Pretty much every Final Destination movie but with a monkey. I can't say I expected much from this as I wasn't a huge fan of Longlegs, but this is a fun enough time that was at least entertaining. Fucking absurd from a writing and filmmaking perspective and probably kust awful, but I still kind of love it. There's something about random bullshit campy horror movies like this that just click for me. The amount of times I had to pause this just so I could stop laughing was too many to count. If only you could see my reaction to "WE GOTTA MAKE LIKE EGGS AND SCRAMBLE!" In all honesty though, I was most disappointed by the fact that Adam Scott and Tatiana Maslany weren't in this more. Anyway, yeah, this movie sucks, but so does life.

"Nothing is written."

When the first Mission: Impossible movie came out in 1996 my dad saw it in theaters. And now, 30 years later, I am the exact age that he was when he first saw Ethan Hunt on the big screen. And together, we saw Ethan's last mission, in all its glory. Over the last month or so I've rewatched this series, knowing ultimately that with every rewatch I grew closer to the end, but what an end it was. From the very start The Final Reckoning introduces Ethan as an almost mythological figure, a nameless man that just so happens to hold the very fate of every living soul ok Earth in the palm of his hand. The fact Tom Cruise is still doing what he does in these movies all these years later is just astounding. To your average person, he's practically invincible. There were multiple moments in this my heart rate skyrocketed so high I felt like I was going to out and I mean that in the best way possible. Genuinely incredible achievement in filmmaking that somehow is able to culminate 30 years of build up into one grand finale without falling short of perfection. I expected nothing less, but even so I still felt a worry that I'm glad quickly vanished once I saw this on a glorious IMAX screen. I cried so much I could barely see by the time the credits rolled. I've made so many mistakes in my life, so many things I wish I could go back and change, but everything I've everything has led me to this moment. Everything I was, everything I've done, has come to this. I have no regrets. Thank you for saving my life Tom.

And so the rewatch comes to a conclusion. With that, I have come just before the grand finale. It's really a toss-up between this and Fallout to which is my favorite of this series, but it feels wrong to even compare them. In fact, it feels wrong to compare any of these films. Not a single dud, not a single misstep, a practically flawless franchise from beginning to end. I'm seeing The Final Reckoning tomorrow and I'm terrified to say goodbye to my favorite family. My most anticipated film of the year by an absolute landslide. I expect nothing less than perfection from the last installment. I'm ready to trust Tom...one last time.

I'd love to say this is the greatest movie ever made, but fortunately every other one of the Mission: Impossible movies exist. Although, this may be my favorite of the series I'll have to see Dead Reckoning another time to make my final decision. Either way, fucking wow man. Everything a action blockbuster should be and more. The sequences where the aspect ratio changes still have me levitating in my living room. I can't fucking get enough of these movies, and I'm sad to say I only have one more rewatch to go after this. Glory to the Cruise.

"Welcome to the IMF."

To say this is where the franchise really gets good would be a great disrespect to the previous entries because they are already perfect...BUT Christopher McQuarrie's touch just kicks these movies into overdrive. I feel like I'm saying the same thing for all of these, great action, great stunts, great cinematography, great setpieces. I mean every one of these would be the best movie ever if the one after it wasn't even better every time. Although this one gets bonus points for Rebecca Ferguson being the most gorgeous woman alive. 2 more rewatches left before the final reckoning, take me home Mr. Cruise.

"Mission ACOMPLISHED."

This was the first ever Mission: Impossible I saw because it was my dad's favorite. And even if it may not be my personal favorite since I've seen the whole series, this shit is still a damn masterpiece in action filmmaking. The Burj Khalifa sequence is one of my favorite set pieces in the whole franchise, along with the car garage bit. This is also probably the funniest out of all of the M:I movies, so many lines just have me on the floor every time. Tom Cruise's delivery of "NO SHIT" is permanently sealed in my brain. I can't believe there's still 3 of these I have left to rewatch, and they're all somehow better.

"Life is precious. Enjoy every second of it. You never know when..."

After watching this whole series the past few weeks I've had the time of my life and I'm happy to report the newest entry did not disappoint. In fact, this might be my favorite so far. Between this and the 5th the characters actually feel like they have personalities. Final Destination Bloodlines revives this series like it never left, gory as ever, kills that had me kicking my feet in the theater, and all seen in glorious IMAX. The scene with Tony Todd had me a little more emotional than I'd expect from one of these movies given their hilarious tone when it comes to the deaths. Rest in peace goat. I hope they never stop making these movies cause I'll never get tired of them.

"I am the FBI."

It's over. It's been 7 months since I started the show that has forever altered me in ways I can't explain. For better or for worse I'm not the same person I was 7 months ago. Since I hit play on the pilot episode in October of last year, people have entered and exited my life, I've learned so much, felt so much sadness, I almost died. It feels like so long ago. If I spoke the the person I was in October they wouldn't recognize me.

It's easy to go on about how this show is a masterpiece, how it's well acted and spectacularly directed by the late David Lynch, but I can't do that right now. Over the course of this show I've laughed, I've cried, and I've lost all feeling at all. At this point there's nothing left of me, the person I was feels like a dream, or maybe I'm just the nightmare of that person.

The last few minutes of Part 18 are the single most devastating minutes of television I've ever seen. The episode right before ended in a way that almost convinced me there was still hope, but I was wrong. It felt as if the world was crumbling in on itself, Cooper's uncertainty feels like a gunshot to the heart. All the time spent trying to make things right, wasted. Every good thing was all for nothing. The nightmare never ends. The darkness will always prevail. And the angels wouldn't help you, because they've all gone away. I've never felt the way I've felt watching Twin Peaks. It brings out all my darkest thoughts, but leaves just a little bit of light so I can carry on. This life I'm living doesn't feel right, I pray that I'm just living a nightmare that I'm soon to wake up from, that there is a happy ending to all this. When the clock strikes zero will I be at peace, or regretful I lived a life of nothing but pain? I share basically nothing in common with Laura, yet feel a deep connection with her nonetheless. In the end, both of us are just screaming into a void with no hope of rescue. I may not understand this show completely, but I feel it, and that's enough.

Fix your hearts or die.

"Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall."

Mission: Impossible III, like 2, is often talked about as one of the worst in the franchise. And as I said in my review for Mission: Impossible II, this may not be the best in the franchise, but damn is it a good movie. I love the entire aesthetic of this one so much, feels so dirty, but so colorful. Also this is the first in the franchise where Ethan really starts to become more of a character outside of just a "cool guy." Tom Cruise feels like he's giving a real performance this time around, not to say he wasn't as good in the previous entries, but he has a lot more personality here. PSH is easily one of, if not the best, villains in the whole franchise and has a great dynamic with Cruise. Probably the least boring movie ever made as well. There's not a second of this where something batshit insane isn't going on. Filled to the brim with campy goodness, I can't get enough. As with all of the installments, this just may be the best movie ever, but not the best Mission: Impossible...somehow.

Tom Cruise at his most beautiful

Mission: Impossible II, otherwise known as the "worst of the Mission: Impossible franchise," is often perceived as just that. And yes, it may be the worst of the franchise, but is it bad? No, not at all, in fact, quite the opposite. This easily has some of the best action of the entire series, not the strongest from a storytelling standpoint, but sometimes hype moments and aura is all you need. Plus this gets extra points because it also contains Ethan Hunt's best look. This shit rips and no one can convince me otherwise.

"You gave me my first glimpse of a real life. Then you asked me to go on with the false one. No one can endure that."

Breathtaking cinematography and great performances, but a story that doesn't do much for me. Far from the best Scorsese Picture I've seen, still makes for a somewhat enjoyable time. Probably wouldn't have seen this if not for it being from Scorsese though. Sorry to disappoint those who reccomended this to me.

"Humans have only one ending. Ideas live for ever."

Still a very dear film to me. The real world sequences drag it down a lot, but those great moments make up for the car commercial bits. I've come to notice that you can hear the subtle notes from Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?" a lot throughout and are also probably my favorite aspects of this film. Holds up comedically too which was fairly surprising. A film for all people really, men, women, and everyone alike. I think everyone has felt some loneliness in their life, some more than others, but we all share the same ending no matter of our life is extravagant or not. It may be a bit of a mess, but the Barbie movie is still a very heartfelt film and one I hold close to me.

"You want to shake hands with the devil, that's fine with me, I just want to make sure you do it in hell."

The start of likely the greatest franchise of all time also happens to be one of the greatest singular movies out there. Filled to the brim with Brian De Palma's signiature style that really makes this Mission: Impossible stand out from the rest. Genuinely just an incredible feat in action filmmaking and it's somehow not even the best one in the series. It's gonna be hard to say goodbye to my good buddy Ethan Hunt.

"Free ain't easy. Free is real. And real's a motherfucker."

Another remarkable film from Michael Mann, and I can't even say I'm surprised. Makes for a fantastic companion piece to Spike Lee's Malcolm X. Will Smith's performance is career defining in this.

"Death... doesn't like to be cheated."

Over the last few weeks or so I've dove into this franchise with no prior knowledge of what it was about, and since then I've had the time of my life. This might just be my favorite entry yet due to that killer 3rd act and incredible ending that really ties all the movies together. Gruesome from start to finish, will probably only improve on rewatch. Couldn't be more excited for what Bloodlines has in store.

"They just fuck you and they fuck you and they fuck you, and then just when you think it's all over, that's when the real fucking starts!'

2nd to last Fincher on the list and man this guy just never disappoints. Another addition to my favorite genre of movies where the protagonist has the worst day ever. Devilishly twisted, and incredibly fun. The type of thing they'd do on Impractical Jokers if they had a much larger budget.

"Father, why have you forsaken me?"

What if God was a man? What if a man, of selfishness, of sin, held every other human's fate in his hands? I have never been a very religious person, but I was still raised to believe in an all-knowing, perfect, God. What makes this film stand out is the fact that Jesus is a human after all, and no human can be perfect. People are greedy, people are lustful, people are envious, so how can the son of God be perfect if he is human? The Last Temptation of Christ, while based on the word of the Bible and of Christianity, it is not a religious film. This is a film of the human condition, what it truly means to be a person, flaws and all. Willem Defoe is unsurprisingly fantastic as a broken version of what is supposed to a man without flaw and likely puts on one of my favorite performances of all time. Obviously, because this is a Scorsese Picture after all, I was expecting a great film, but was not expecting to get as much out of this as I did. One of the most beautifully human films ever made.

"Yelena, when I look at you, I don't see your mistakes."

So they really did it, Marvel made a real movie again. Now I can't say I'm exactly surprised I enjoyed this cause from the first teaser I could tell something about this one was different, a return to form so to speak. Even so, this still exceeded my expectations to some regard. As someone who has struggled with mental health issues their whole life, I found the character work with Yelena and Bob genuinely compelling, and several of the scenes between them had me a bit emotional in the theater. I think what has been lacking in recent superhero flicks is heart. Many seem to throw away any and all real emotion to shoe-horn in useless cameos or as some may call it, "hype moments and aura." While the others, the ones that stick with you, focus on the people behind the heroes. And when I say heroes, I mean heroes. I love it when superheroes actually try and look out for civilians, something I haven't felt from one of these movies since The Avengers. The 3rd act is also spectacularly original and a fantastic visualization of depression. Lewis Pullman and Florence Pugh are the real standouts, among an otherwise great cast. I can't say I'm exactly optimistic for the future of this franchise, but it's nice to see they still got it in them to make good movies.

"You're not alone."

Truly embarrassing levels of washed going on here. Not even the kills could save this one from being completely abysmal with some just godawful effects. Every character is boring, every line extremely campy, but not even in a fun way. Very funny this one is called THE Final Destination cause it is easily the worst one so far.

"He re those vanished years. As though looking through a dusty window pane, the past is something he could see, but not touch. And everything he sees is blurred and indistinct."

There's a certain greed to love, I suppose. To try so desperately to win the affection of someone you have no control over. It's not just a feeling, it's an atmosphere, a tension, of which In the Mood for Love conveys with such ease it's a wonder how a film could show so much with so little. A common theme in Wong Kar-Wai's other works is a quiet loneliness, yearning. Never outright stated, but feels so real. As if a cold hand is reaching out from the screen, draining you of all feeling and replacing it with nothing in return, no memories, no emotion, just existence. A frozen state that can only be defrosted by the warm touch of love, only to be ripped away without question.

"Can't you be in love without determining your future first?"

Filmmaking is an often dismissed art form, something viewed as just entertainment, but there's something more, a feeling no other art can really bring out of me. Love is the most indescribable emotion out there. It feels like happiness, sadness, and every other thing rolled into one. I feel like I've spend my entire life looking for it, only to always fall short. So many missed opportunities, missed chances. Whisper of the Heart is a film that defines me like no other. Every moment feels like I'm watching myself from across the room. And if so, maybe that same love lies in my future, waiting, I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

"I am what God made me."

Ironically enough, it took the real Pope's ing to finally get me to check this one out, and honestly it's not too bad actually. I was fully expecting this to be a boring slog of a film, but I was pretty engaged the entire runtime. Doesn't really delve to far into any specific themes nor says anything significant, but is serviceable enough to still get a good rating out of me. A great cast and thrilling score definitely elevates this to an above average rating.

"Not again!"

That's the shit I live for man. This is probably the best one of these so fat, mostly for the fact that Mary Elizabeth Winstead has an unreasonably great performance for such a stupid movie. And you know what? Sometimes a little stupid fun is all you need. I can't get enough of these movies, and even if they're not the strongest thematically I'd be lying if I said they weren't a hell of a ride.

"Only new life can defeat Death."

What a blast. Really enjoyed this one quite a bit more solely because of how over-the-top it goes with its kills. Somehow even funnier and more elaborate deaths here than the first. There's some Rybe Goldberg machine type set ups here. If the rest of the franchise can keep up this quality I think I've got an all-timer on my hands.

"In death there are no accidents, no coincidences, no mishaps, and no escapes."

About what I expected from an early 2000s horror flick, but still an extremely fun time. I love it when horror movies embrace the campy aspects of their concepts and there are definitely some gnarly kills here. Hoping the rest of the franchise delivers the same campy fun as this. Also really enjoyed how Tony Todd's character shows up in this for 2 minutes, says some random bullshit, and leaves, never to be heard from again.

"Home is a place we all must find, child. It's not just a place where you eat or sleep. Home is knowing. Knowing your mind, knowing your heart, knowing your courage. If we know ourselves, we're always home, anywhere."

Sidney Lumet is slowly becoming one of my favorite directors with each film of his I see. It really shows how much talent he has when you compare this to 12 Angry Men. Two completely different tones and yet the same subject matter. Also in comparison to the original The Wizard of Oz I can easily see me liking this adaptation more upon rewatch. The original film takes place in the bright, colorful land of Oz, in comparison to the more run-down, and dark city setting of The Wiz. The music is just incredible and Quincy Jones' influence is very apparent. I especially loved the end and it got a bit of a tear out of me. Spectacular film in every shape and form that I can only see improving upon every rewatch.

"There were two times I felt truly happy. First, the day I met Josh; second, the day I killed him."

It really is too bad the teasers gave away so much of this because many of these twists would've made for a nice surprise, but this still males for a pretty fun time otherwise. Says lots about the objectification of both men and women in relationships and how toxic they can end up being. I think it's really always been an issue with people, seeing a relationship from the perspective of a, as the movie puts it, "fuck-bot," and not any real emotion. The cast is also really funny here with Sophie Thatcher just killing it, literally, but Jack Quaid is great too as the worst person you know. There's some things I think could've been explored more with the concept but a fun time nonetheless.

I can't say I'm the most religious person out there, if at all, but man I just adore this film. I've watched this practically all my life and it still never ceases to impress me. The visuals and score are nothing short of incredible. I love when biblical films such as these portray these stories in an almost mythological way. The scene with the angel of death is still terrifying to this day and really drives home how horrific these stories can truly be. One of the best animated films to this day.

"Mrs. Darcy."

Had the absolute pleasure of seeing this in theaters as my first viewing. I originally was seeing this because my friend had wanted to, but as the film went along I slowly realized I made one of the best decisions of my life. One of the most gorgeous looking films I've ever seen, even better to see it on the big screen. There are shots in here that might as well be actual Renaissance paintings. I thought the romance aspect would be a little generic, but I was pleasantly surprised by the chemistry and performances between the leads. I must it that ending had me kicking my feet while my friend was sobbing. Also made for an extremely odd double feature with me having seen Sinners earlier today. God bless Matthew MacFadyen.

"You keep dancing with the devil... one day he's gonna follow you home."

Fucking wow man, that is a goddamn movie. Ryan Coogler is back to the big screen with a vengeance and adrenaline fueled behemoth of a blockbuster. I don't even know where to begin. The visuals alone make for one of the best theater experiences I've ever had with just some gorgeous looking shots and sequences. There's one in particular where I was just in pure awe. The masterful score from Ludwig Göransson elevates every sequence to an almost out of body experience. Michael B. Jordan is the obvious standout among the cast, but everyone here is giving it their absolute all. This is easily my favorite film I've seen from 2025 so far and I can't imagine how anything else is gonna top it. And what a damn ending. If you have the chance to see this in theaters LOCK THE FUCK IN.

"Abracadabra."

You know a director is a generational talent when you watch one of the greatest films ever made and it isn't even their best. As much as he can be considered overhyped, Christopher Nolan really is just one of the best to ever do it. I'd figured out some twists but this film still found a way to surprise me. Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale are incredible in this. Obsession and rivalry taken to their very limits.

Scorsese at his darkest and most pessimistic. Nicolas Cage is truly one of the greatest actors of our time.

  While this film is mostly about the sexual violence and exploitation directed towards women, I still find myself relating to the character of Laura Palmer. She puts on this fake persona around others and must live up to the status of the Prom Queen, but behind all of that she is deeply scarred. As stated in the show, Twin Peaks, Bob represents the evil of humanity, and he is practically invisible to the average person, only revealing himself to the weak and talking control of them, much like my personal feelings of depression and suicide.
