Contagion

2011

★★★½ Rewatched

Right now, it's like watching the opposite to a film based on historical events. Anyway, watched it in 2011 and it made me feel uneasy about how vulnerable we are to a pandemic.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers

1978

★★★★ Watched

A sci-fi horror done well, where you can really feel the uneasiness and the hopelessness as it progresses. And what's up with the dog? It really freaked me out.

First Blood

1982

★★★½ Watched

This is one of my favorite "action" movies, because it's not about the good guy saving the day and getting the girl. It's about a man whose war never ended and a world who will never understand him.

Over the Top

1987

★★ Watched

Who thought arm-wrestling could solve all your problems? Over the Top is a typical feel-good movie from the eighties using film practices of the decade such as a showcase of muscles and a Kenny Loggins song in the soundtrack. And despite being predictable and sometimes flawed, you won't find another movie that have you cheering at two big men sweating and grunting while trying to break each others arm. A personal guilty pleasure.
