When I was watching movies very regularly, back in 2022, 2023, this was a movie I'd heard a bit about and was quite excited. Tom Hardy in a movie from the director of The Raid? Sign me the fuck up. If you'd given me 100 guesses on who directed this, I'd have never guessed Mel Gibson. This movie is wild, and not in a good way.
I will say Mark Wahlberg puts in a fun, terrible but fun performance. For some reason he's fucking wearing a toupee? I dunno.
The rest of the film kinda sucks though. Bad performances, bad visual effects, generic story. Yeah... yuck.
So I can't explain why, but I dig this. I can see the (many, many) flaws yet that just doesn't really stop me from enjoying this.
For starters, I love the lore of Ghost Rider but that's more on the comics than this, however (although I'm not an expert by any means) this feels like at least a somewhat faithful adaptation of the source material.
