Playful first few scenes, backed up by the score
Close to Indiana Jones in tone early on - seems to be intended to show the journey Lawrence goes from quirky and fun to violent and intense
Stunning landscapes
O'Toole almost seems to be channeling Peter Sellers in the beginning
Obi-wan is very sincere, but maybe a little hammy
I agree with the dude, El Awrence does sound cool
Quicksand?!
Lawrence is becoming Gandalf-esque
Many difficult shots to get - e.g. horses jumping off the stopped train
O'Toole does well to show both the horror and the bloodlust of war

Notes from a western newbie:

Great main title theme and score
A lot of the dialogue sounds dubbed (but not other times?)
Camera movement is effective, makes the scenes feel alive
Clint's hair is much too good for the setting
Exposition scene between Clint and barman a bit heavy-handed
"Get three coffins ready" delivery is cold blooded - "My mistake: four coffins"
"When a man's got money in his pocket he begins to appreciate peace."
