really good! fits right in with the rest of the John Wick movies. i liked Eve, probably my favorite female lead in an action movie i've seen recently. not so "not like other girls" that she seems inhuman and unrealtable, but still just as awesome as John

absolutely insane but it needed to be. great performance from toni collette, probably my favorite of hers that i've seen so far!

not bad, not super spectacular either. generally feel-good, ends on a hopeful note, and feels like real life. charlie was scary but i thought jack was fun

usually when a movie based on a book doesn't make sense, i read the book to see what i'm missing. this was so bad i don't even wanna try

definitely has some interesting things going on and doesn't feel like a copy of the original. sarah is lowkey a queen

i read the book before watching and i gotta say, this is a pretty good adaptation. except for lena's story. not really sure why they completely changed her family's relationship with the dounases and totally changed her and kostas' dynamic... i feel like it didn't fit as well with lena's personality and made her story less interesting to me than it was in the book. i could rant, but i think that was the only "bad" part of the adaptation (if it wasn't based on a book/i hadn't read it i might not even mind). that aside, i liked it!

i have no idea how to rate this. i'm kind of biased because i was watching this solely for misha collins, but i did end up finding the premise pretty interesting. i do wish they would have focused more on one thing and didn't put soooo much stuff in there. maybe explore the relationships of the women in the family more and not have a bunch of chaotic relationship drama with amanda's co-workers? candace and cj could have been cut from the movie entirely and not a lot would change. (we already know nick was not a good guy, we really didn't need the scene of him attacking candace) i'm sure it added something to the story that someone felt was necessary, but it made some parts seem like they weren't fully fleshed out. i liked the idea of amanda reading her grandmother's diary/the letter she wrote her and learning from esther's life experiences. i feel like there's gotta be some way they could've made that more meaningful and not just feel (to me) like yet another thing they added in. i also feel like the tone of some of the flashbacks amanda was having of the day she left was kinda off... like i get that amanda (and the viewer) is supposed to think dave did something bad and that's why her mother took her away, but it just felt so intense and suspenseful that it was kinda awkward to me. maybe i'm just slow, but i'm certainly nitpicking.

it started as a narnia rip-off, and then suddenly fred weasley was satan

so few things about this movie are actually good, i love it more than my own family

i don't care what y'all say, this was funny and had a pretty creative premise. did i watch it because james phelps was in it? yes. but in the end he was only one of the many reasons i love this movie
