Only Michael Winner could put Robert Mitchum, James Stewart, John Mills & Oliver Reed into a Raymond Chandler adaptation and make it feel like an ITV daytime drama.
Not really a Laurel & Hardy short, more of a Stan Laurel film that happens to feature Oliver Hardy (clean shaven, I might add). The basis of the plot is recycled in the 1935 short The Fixer Uppers, which frankly is better.
