Fond memories of sneak watching this one on tv with the volume turned waaaaaay down because I wasn’t supposed to be.

Questionable at best and down right bad at worst, this one tries some different ideas out and not all of them land. But the ones that do, really do.

Like goddamn if that opening sequence didn’t scar a generation of millennials for life.

The elevator sequence messed with little-me’s head (pun intended) for weeks after.

Also that ending stinger is foul but it makes me laugh every time.

Slapping my knee like your uncle at a baseball game every time Erik and Charles look at each other.

Like someone spilled a little James Bond into the X-Men cocktail, but honestly, not upset about it.

I screwed up our watch order, so First Class is gonna be a prequel for my partner. 

Amazingly, works really well as a standalone film with some truly inspired casting. Also some of the best looking shots I’ve seen in the x-men franchise??

Will forever love Charles and Erik bickering like two old queens.
