A bleak and depressing neo-noir where everyone’s a scumbag, and hoping to make a connection with one another is almost impossible. Gene Hackman is incredible here as his character plunges deeper into confusion and despair.
Those last 15 minutes are incredible, and I love how the final shot perfectly captures Hackman’s character throughout the entire film.

The first half is a huge mess, and there are some Rise of Skywalker vibes with this one, but the cast gives it their all, and that plane sequence is one of the best action set pieces ever.

Possibly the greatest theatrical experience I ever had.

There is nothing like this and there never will be.
