Bhool Chuk Maaf

2025

★★½ Watched

Gotta give it to Maddock for trying to seep in a good hearted message to the looping-day plot device. It’s just sad that the first half of this movie is just unbearable and the last act a bit too preachy for my taste. Nonetheless, should be okay to watch this if you are okay with Rajkumar Rao being the silly little small town loon that he has typecasted himself into.

Deva

2025

★★ Watched

For a gritty police procedural, Deva is too conveniently plotted and full of narrative inconsistency. Kapoor seems to plant the seeds of this character straight out of Kabir Singh and to be fair, it does not work here. Not with that loud soundtrack numbing your brain scene after scene.

The colour scheme is fuckin' black & white, and they fuckin' speak as if there's a golden shite. The fuckin' movies are all overblown, the fuckin' powers and all those fuckin' guns. The fuckin' people are fuckin' stupid, they fuckin' talk as if they know it.

The fuckin' music is fuckin' fucked, what sadness can give, not a fuckin' thing could. The fuckin' love is fuckin' unreal, with all the fuckin' dance and all them fuckin' seals.

The fuckin' cigarette is…

"There's nothing wrong with my life. I should be happy. But there's this sadness and I don't know where it comes from."

A lovely, melancholic stroll down the love that coulda, shoulda, woulda. If you are on a strict - one romantic movie a year diet, make sure that this is the one.
