It is a good thing that David Fincher did not let the events of Alien 3 define his career and he bounced back straight away with Seven. Inspired by giallo cinema, having it based on the seven deadly sins does allow for much creativity especially visually. The first time you watch it, you are thinking about which sins you have seen already and which are still to come and what could they have in store.
