Dune Part Two is very easily one of the greatest movies ever made and one of the greatest large-scale "epic" films ever made. The visual effects, production design, costumes, cinematography, sound editing, and score are all truly top-notch. The lighting at the Harkonnen arena was incredible and so many of the actors gave some of their best performances ever. Timothee Chalamet specifically was enormously captivating watching him switch from quiet, humble Paul to the deep-voiced Kwisatz Haderach. They had to have added something to his voice or modulated it somehow because the way he screamed was otherworldly. His big speech in front of the crowd left me speechless. And Austin Butler was convincingly creepy as Feyd-Rautha. The choreography in his fight scene with Timothee was extremely impressive.
The scene where Paul rides the Shai-Hulud for the first time is nothing short of breathtaking and gave me goosebumps and the final battle is so awesome. Watching the worms suddenly appear out of the dust is terrifying. The movie itself does a great job of showing the audience the dangers of dogmatic worship and how power can change a person. It's kind of an epiphany for the uninitiated, those who never read the books, to realize somewhere in the movie that Paul is the main character and he's mostly the protagonist but he's not the hero. He's going down a path of darkness. Just for the grand scale and how mind-blowingly amazing the movie is, I'm giving this 6 out of 5 stars and adding it to my Hall of Fame list.
