A list of some of my favorite pre-1981 sci-fi and fantasy films. Top 10? Maybe not - this is a category that is difficult to whittle down to an absolute ten best. And since there are so many great candidates, I have resisted creating a much larger list. So let's just call this "13 Favorites" - listed in no particular order!

This list was created for the Grand Illusion showdown which challenges us to list "ten favorite sci-fi and/or fantasy films released a long time ago in a galaxy not-so far away—i.e. during or before 1980."

That 1980 cutoff date for this challenge was tough - because there are a lot of strong contenders just past the mark!
