Annnnnnnnnd, I'm officially a Doug Campbell head.

All my Tubi trash-loving freaks need to check this one out ASAP - no Dr. Beck, but an equally insane premise that more than makes up for it. Lots of genuine parental fear as the undercurrent pushing this thing forward (that I unfortunately related to as the child of a helicopter parent that had c-PTSD).

Megan Gallagher channeling Gale Weathers BIG TIME.

Needed a palette cleanser after The Monkey, so I decided to watch one of my favourites - not to drag Perkins, because I still love Blackcoat's Daughter - but there's an artistry here that feels a lot more authentic - this is a film that could have *only* ever been made by Rob Zombie.

And also, IMO, better balances poor taste kitsch (that rockabilly scene...), corny shit (the Sherri Moon performance in this still feels so ~off~ to me as…

So many beautiful faces... truly repugnant sound mix.

I feel like i'm listening to a MySpace deathcore album from 2007 that has a blown out bass drop breakdown every 2 minutes, except instead of mosh parts written for 16 yr olds, it's pure shrill hysterics. feels conjured up from a half-lucid place of ed dreamscape, bathed in the CRT glow from your childhood bedroom while you fell asleep watching Syfy (we had SPACE channel here) as a means to drown out the noise of all the terrible childhood memories you buried deep inside. reclaiming lost childhood innocence, or revelling in its absence? incredible score... glad i was an only child 🤙

strangely compelling? i find tesfaye's mangled emotional expression resonant in a way i didn't expect. he barely speaks throughout this, and when he does, it's usually in total resignation, dismissal, or contempt for others trying to project expectations of a "pop star" onto him, but when he's faced with dejection from loved ones (the "ex" we never see who is voiced by his "mother"...wonder why?) he completely cracks, showing the most exaggerated expression of inner conflict i've seen in a…

Pee-wee as Himself

Usually not a fan of these sorts of things — esp. since they often feel less like a loving tribute and more like a critically timed candid exposé, but this one struck a chord. I was a huge Pee-wee kid and now that I have *some* disposable income, it's carried into adulthood as a bit of a fixation lol (28 Pee-wee tapes, countless collectibles, that checkered painter's hat that now sells for ~$100 on Etsy/eBay, and I bought the Dummy
