I haven’t seen a new movie this badass since Old Henry. Wow. That scratched every itch possible and whether it’s cliche or not, I am satisfied beyond all expectations. They reinvented some classic tropes in ways that had me yelling to myself as I watched it..a contemporary exploitation classic.
Wow. Usually when I walk into an A24 movie I’m prepared for a pretentious piece of crap that I’m going to hate, but this…this was an entirely different breed of garbage. I legitimately had to pinch myself when the hip-hop, possession montage was happening. This really just hit all the marks of a budget-saver classiqué. The demons were just Craigslist actors with heavy eye shadow, some of the leads were definitely cast straight out of porno, the script was predictable…
