A movie about an incredible achievement first. But it's not only a simple climbing documentary, but goes several steps further and asks some more questions:
What makes a human want to do this? What do the people around him think of it? And what is it like for the crew that is filming everything?

The movie manages to show interesting sides of Alex Honnold and avoids the easy "he's insane/brave/etc." answer. Instead you can see how the thriving for recognition and success can be that big that you are willing to climb a 1000 meter high rock without a rope.

When I was young, I played the Drums. But I did not have a teacher that yelled at me and threw stuff at me, so I never got really good. Guess I'm pretty lucky that I didn't have such a teacher, because I never wanted to be so good. I wanted to have fun, learn to play the instrument and I recognized quite early that I'll never be the best.
